Before launching Mindset Digital, Debra spent seven years as the director of the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism at Ohio State University, where she pioneered the nation’s first social media fellowship for journalists. This groundbreaking program trained reporters from major news outlets like CNN, 60 Minutes, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times to master storytelling on emerging digital platforms.
An award-winning former investigative journalist, Debra holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership, with her dissertation focused on the art of compelling storytelling. She also has two journalism degrees, underscoring her lifelong commitment to impactful communication.
