At 19, Amy Purdy faced life-threatening Meningococcal Meningitis, resulting in a dual leg amputation below the knee and a kidney transplant from her father. Defying odds, she returned to snowboarding, crafting her snowboard feet, and swiftly won medals at the USASA National Championship.
In 2005, with partner Daniel Gale, she founded Adaptive Action Sports (AAS), which championed snowboarding’s inclusion in the 2014 Paralympics. There, Amy clinched Team USA’s first bronze and later became the then most decorated Paralympic snowboarder with her 2018 Team USA wins.
Branching out, she dazzled millions as the first Paralympian on “Dancing With the Stars”, making it to the finals. Today, she’s a sought-after motivational speaker, addressing giants like Microsoft and Coca-Cola. Oprah recognized her tenacity, and she’s been spotlighted in a Super Bowl ad and inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame.
Beyond accolades, motivational keynote speaker Amy promotes the power of sports, working with global organizations on inclusivity and peace. Her memoir, “On My Own Two Feet”, is a worldwide bestseller.
