Daniel Kraft, M.D. is a Stanford and Harvard-trained physician-scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience spanning clinical practice, biomedical research, and healthcare innovation. He is the founder and chair of NextMed Health (formerly Exponential Medicine), a global community and platform focused on the intersection of rapidly advancing technologies and their transformative potential in healthcare. Since 2008, he has also served as the Faculty Chair for Medicine at Singularity University, where he guides conversations on the future of health and medicine. Additionally, Daniel chairs the XPRIZE Pandemic & Health Alliance.
Dr. Kraft earned undergraduate degrees from Brown University and completed medical school at Stanford. He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, having completed his residency at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital, followed by fellowships in hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation at Stanford.
An Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellow and a member of the Kauffman Fellows Society, Daniel is also Managing Partner at Continuum Health Ventures, which invests in early-stage health tech startups that aim to democratize healthcare and extend human healthspan. He frequently speaks globally on the future of medicine and technology, including four TED and two TEDMED Talks, and regularly keynotes for leading organizations across industries.
Daniel’s academic research has appeared in top-tier journals including Nature and Science, and his clinical work has focused on stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, immunotherapies for cancer, and pediatric and adult bone marrow transplantation. He has held NIH-funded faculty positions at Stanford and served as clinical faculty at UCSF.
As a serial innovator, Daniel holds patents related to medical devices, immunology, and stem cells. He is the inventor of the MarrowMiner, an FDA-approved device for minimally invasive bone marrow harvesting, and the founder of RegenMed Systems, which develops regenerative medicine technologies. He also recently launched IntelliMedicine, a venture focused on data-driven, personalized healthcare. He is the founder of Digital.Health, sits on the board of Healthy.io, and advises multiple digital health and Fortune 50 companies.
Outside of medicine, Daniel is a trained pilot and served as a flight surgeon with F-15 and F-16 fighter squadrons in both the Massachusetts and California Air National Guard. He has conducted aerospace medicine research in collaboration with NASA and was a finalist in NASA’s astronaut selection process.
