Rave Speakers is proud to represent Hall of Fame NFL Coach Jimmy Johnson.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson is a longtime analyst on FOX NFL SUNDAY, joining hosts Curt Menefee and Terry Bradshaw alongside fellow analysts Howie Long and Michael Strahan. A legendary figure in both college and professional football, Johnson is the only head coach to win both a Super Bowl and a college football national championship, securing back-to-back Super Bowl titles with the Dallas Cowboys and a national title with the Miami Hurricanes in 1987.
Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s centennial class in 2020, Johnson was the architect of the Cowboys’ Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII victories. He was named head coach of the Cowboys in 1989—one day after his former college teammate Jerry Jones purchased the franchise. Over his five seasons in Dallas, Johnson compiled a 50-22 record (.694), earned multiple NFL Coach of the Year honors, and led the team to an astounding 39 wins over their final 50 games (.780). His Cowboys set a franchise-best 13 regular-season wins in 1992 and posted a dominant 7-1 record in postseason play.
After stepping away from the Cowboys following the 1993 season, Johnson joined FOX Sports as a studio analyst for the inaugural FOX NFL SUNDAY broadcast in 1994. He returned to coaching in 1996 with the Miami Dolphins, succeeding the iconic Don Shula. During his four-year tenure in Miami, Johnson led the team to three playoff appearances and compiled a 36-28 regular season record before retiring in 2000 with an overall NFL head coaching mark of 80-64 and a 9-4 record in the postseason.
Prior to his NFL success, Johnson spent five seasons as head coach of the University of Miami, where he posted a remarkable 52-9 record, won two Orange Bowls, and led the team to two No. 2 national finishes in addition to the 1987 championship. He remains one of only two coaches in history—alongside Barry Switzer—to lead both a national champion in college football and a Super Bowl-winning team in the NFL.
Johnson began his coaching career in 1965 as a defensive line coach at Louisiana Tech and went on to serve at Wichita State, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and Pittsburgh. He took over as head coach at Oklahoma State in 1979, where he guided the program to two bowl appearances and a 29-25 record over five seasons.
In 2019, FOX NFL SUNDAY—where Johnson has become a fan favorite for his sharp analysis and on-air chemistry—was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Johnson also added author to his résumé with the 2022 release of Swagger, a candid and motivational memoir co-written with veteran sports journalist Dave Hyde, known for his collaborations with other football greats including Don Shula, Dan Marino, and Bob Griese.
An alumnus of the University of Arkansas and a true icon of the game, Jimmy Johnson has left a legacy of excellence, leadership, and championship pedigree at every level of football.
