Kenny Smith is a renowned NBA studio analyst on the Emmy Award-winning show Inside the NBA on TNT, widely regarded as one of the most entertaining sports studio shows on television. He provides expert analysis weekly throughout the NBA season and playoffs. Kenny is also a key studio analyst for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, airing on CBS Sports and Turner Sports. In January 2021, Kenny was honored with the prestigious National Civil Rights Museum Sports Legacy Award, recognizing his impactful contributions to civil and human rights, the social justice movement, and his efforts to inspire future leaders through sports. In 2015, he and his family showcased their dynamic lives in the TBS reality series The Smiths. As a player, Kenny enjoyed a stellar 10-year NBA career, winning back-to-back championships with the Houston Rockets in 1994 and 1995.

A standout rookie, he earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Team in 1988 and played for the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and Denver Nuggets. Before his NBA success, Kenny starred at the University of North Carolina, where he graduated in 1987 with a degree in Industrial Relations. He continues to give back by hosting an annual basketball camp in Chapel Hill. Kenny’s entrepreneurial ventures include founding the Kenny Smith Entertainment Group, a sports and entertainment events company, and launching Jet Academy, which provides virtual basketball training for kids. In May 2023, Kenny released his first book, Talk of Champions: Stories of the People Who Made Me: A Memoir. The memoir shares unforgettable stories from his playing and broadcasting careers, spotlighting the star players, coaches, and mentors who shaped his journey. Kenny resides in Los Angeles, California, with his family, continuing to inspire and impact the sports world and beyond.
